For the first time since 1987, Microsoft has finally got itself a new logo.
The new logo was introduced on Thursday, and it is the first in Microsoft’s history to include a graphic. The font for the new logo is Segoe, which Microsoft uses for many of its other products.
The graphic on the left has the colors of red, blue, green and yellow, representing the company’s diverse portfolio, according to a TechNet posting.
This comes at a time of new products from Microsoft, including Windows 8 and Surface tablets.
Microsoft has updated its SkyDrive App for Windows. The new features include a visual notification… users simply click the white SkyDrive icon, to easily check if their SkyDrive is up to date. If there are more files to download, SkyDrive will notify you how much and for how long.
Microsoft also announced the new SkyDrive logo… which it claims is a more consistent experience…
We designed SkyDrive to provide Windows customers access to important files anywhere. With the upcoming release of Windows 8, the time was right to redesign the SkyDrive logo. The refreshed logo is a natural evolution of the work we’re doing across Microsoft to deliver a more consistent experience across all of our products.
Microsoft has already “Metrofied” many of its logos… so this was no surprise at all.
