Xbox Dashboard Fall Update Review

It’s been a few weeks since Redmond launched the Fall Dashboard Update for the Xbox. Being a 360 owner ( who isn’t?), I got a chance to play around Microsoft’s slick new interface. What’s the verdict??? Read on.

This exclusive review will break down the Xbox’s latest skin into three parts. Was the Dashboard a Hit or did Microsoft really wreck things this time. ( Images below courtesy of the Microsoft Image Gallery for Xbox)

Nothing less than slick, our reviewers were impressed by the quality of design. Sporting a minimalist Metro-style interface, the Dashboard gets big props for looks and design.

There is plenty of new functionality baked into the new Dash. From new Share to Facebook features to Beacons, Microsoft has further revamped the ways gamers share achievements and interact with friends. The Dash is also the new home of such exclusive partners as Verizon FiOS, , Syfy, and UFC.

Perhaps the most notable feature is Bing. Bing let’s you search through all available Xbox content allowing you to find all things Xbox. This feature alone is worth the update for Xbox owners.

It took our reviewers a few head-scratches to figure out some parts of the Dashboard. Because the update is so dramatically different, those used to the previous Dash may find themselves lost… not to worry, after a few uses, usability is more than excellent… it’s just the initial look that may daze people.

Let’s not forget the new and improved updates for the exsiting apps: Netflix received a significant overhaul as did so many other existing apps.

total Score:

StarStarStarStarStar Perfect

Although the interface may daze a few new consumers, the UI is easy on the eyes and packs plenty of new features that 360 owners are bound to love. Premier Microsoft awards 5 starst to this Dashboard Update

  1. You really make it seem really easy with your presentation however I find this topic to be really one thing which I feel I might by no means understand. It sort of feels too complex and very huge for me. I am having a look ahead on your next publish, I will attempt to get the hold of it!
