Your Premier Destination for all things Microsoft….. …… As much as we love the folks in Redmond, we are neither supported nor affiliated by them:(

It’s safe to say that things haven’t been smooth sailing for Yahoo! The company has witnessed the steady collapse of its core money-making unit. Things get worse though—Yahoo! stock is down in the dumps.Market cap has dropped at an astounding rate and is poised to kill the company. The once-powerful digital media company, saw another misfortune this week.

CEO Scott Thompson was forced to step down after investment firms noted that the Yahoo! CEO had lied on his resume. Thompson listed he had a degree in Computer Science…the resume had gone unquestioned until angry investors used the faulty resume to support claims that Yahoo! was being mismanaged.

Investors also argued that the digital media company should have taken up Microsoft’s offers, one of which included an acquisition. Of course, Yahoo!’s fall has brought Bing into a prominent 2nd place in the battle of the search engine. As the company steadily withers, Bing is poised to rob market share and climb the ranks to more seriously compete with Google.

As if to disprove the nay-sayers and doubters, Microsoft has announced a $99 Xbox 360 console bundle including Kinect that will only retail in Microsoft retail stores. There’s a slight catch, though. The incredible savings only are applicable if you purchase two years of Xbox LIVE Gold. At $15 a month, consumers will get their Xbox LIVE Gold along the Xbox/Kinect bundle. If you do the math, you are actually getting cheated some $60.

But if thought of realistically, Microsoft’s offer is much like a buying on interest or buying with a down payment… you can get your Xbox and Kinect right now, but the price will 14.99 a month. Personally, I think this is a pretty stellar deal for a consumer- you end paying up more, of course, but Xbox LIVE is really underpriced anyway and… most importantly….you can get the Xbox of your dreams by paying just one Ben Franklin. That’s a pretty sweet deal.

To get this deal, you have to travel to your local Microsoft store and purchase it there.
